Shri. Bhalchandra Khandait

Electricity Ombudsman

An Engineering graduate with MBA Finance Shri Bhalchandra Khandait, a Power Sector Professional, assumed the charge of the Electricity Ombudsman, Nagpur on 15th November, 2022. Prior to this appointment he worked as Director (Projects) in Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company.

Shri Khandait had a long association with the erstwhile Maharashtra State Electricity Board, the biggest SEB in India and its successor entity, MSEDCL. Over a period of 33 years Shri Khandait gained rich experience by working in different capacities at the field and corporate level. He held various important positions such as Chief Engineer Commercial, Regional Director and Director. Being Director he was a member of the Board of Directors.

Shri Khandait was actively involved in important policy matters during his tenure as Regional Director and Director at Corporate headquarters, Mumbai. He contributed in developing advanced and user-friendly models through ERP. Also to his credit are the path-breaking initiatives like e-DPR, e-Tendering, Vendor Payment System, which resulted in paperless and transparent processes. He has always believed in quality and speedy delivery in whatever capacity he worked.
